Why do I feel less assistance when the battery is less than 20%?

Why do I feel less assistance when the battery is less than 20%?

When the battery is <20% charged, it goes into “low power mode”, which means that you’ll feel slightly less assistance from the motor.

The reason for this is that lithium ion batteries have a limit as to how much power can be drawn from the battery in a low state.

For Li batteries, this usually kicks in around 20% – which is why you feel reduced power at this level.

This is completely normal, so is nothing to worry about.

We recommend that you keep your battery within an optimum range of 30-70% charged in order to maximise it’s lifespan and performance.

If you are concerned that your battery isn’t performing as well as it should, please contact us, we can run a diagnostic to check your battery health.
