First, carefully open the box using a pen knife or scissors. Try not to damage it as you may need it for the future.
Take out any accessories on the top layer of the box, then remove your seat post, manual and folding instructions, charging lead and spare battery (if ordered).
Keep the manual and folding instructions to hand so that you can refer to these later.
Next, remove the cardboard insert to reveal your ebike.
Then take out your bike! You’ll notice that if you ordered mudguards or a kickstand, these have already been fitted to your bike for you.
Remove the seat post lock keys from the handlebars. Keep these safe! You’ll need these to be able to lock the seat post and battery into place.
Next, remove the plastic covers on the rear hub motor and front wheel nut.
Then, cut the cable ties to remove the white protective foam packaging.
Slide the battery out from the rear of the ebike’s top tube by gripping the plastic indentations on the rear light case and pulling (seat post must not be installed).
Turn the battery on by pressing and holding the power button until the LED lights illuminate.
Next, install the battery into the bike by aligning the charging port with the charging port cover on the bike and sliding the battery into the top tube.
Next, undo the seat post quick release and insert the seat post.
Tighten the quick release.
You can lock the seat post and battery into place at this point.
To do so, push the button on the seat post quick release.
To unlock again, insert the key and twist.
You will find the second part of your FLIT bike charger at the bottom of the box, beneath the cardboard insert that your bike was sitting on.
Remove the charger its box, and assemble together with the charging lead (which you should have already taken out from the top of the box).
Before you unfold your FLIT bike, find your frame serial number, located on either the handlebars or down tube of the frame. The full serial number will be “Founders’ Batch ### if on the handlebars or "SN24M2A####" if on the down tube). You need this to register your bike and validate your warranty.
Visit https://flit.bike/warranty-registration/ and fill in your details and bike serial number on the form.
Now that your bike is registered, you’re ready to unfold your FLIT bike for the first time! You can refer to the Fold and Unfold Instructions booklet too at this point.
You can find the full instructional video here (FLIT-16): https://flit.bike/fold-unfold/
Now, turn your FLIT bike on, by pressing and holding the power button on the display for three seconds.
Familiarise yourself with using the display and brakes.
Adjust the saddle height and position to suit you, referring to either your FLIT bike manual or our How to Adjust the Saddle Height article.
Now, you’re good to take your bike out for a test ride!
