How should I store my battery?
The lifespan of the battery can be extended by following the tips below:
- If you’re not using your battery for a long period of time (e.g. for a month or more) you can put the battery in hibernation mode by holding down the power button. In this mode, the battery will consume less energy.
- If you can help it, try to avoid draining the battery below 20% or charging above 80%. The ideal state of charge for maximising battery lifespan is 30-60%. If you’re storing the battery for less than two months, charge to around 45% before storing to ensure that the state of charge doesn’t drop below 30% during the storage period. We recommend you do a top-up charge every two months to avoid the state of charge getting too low.
- It’s best to store in a cool place but don’t store below freezing.
